My family’s love for tea and our father’s mission of kindness is now honoured by my brother Malik and I as we follow in our father’s footsteps.

It was a dream that none had dared dream; almost four decades of struggle followed and Dilmah was founded by Merrill J. Fernando in 1985. It was the first time in the history of tea that a native tea grower from any tea-producing nation had created a genuinely ethical, grower-owned brand.
